How much drinking does it take to induce it? You'd think I'd see some negative repercussions by now since I started regularly since 13...I think I've got well over 30 or 40 bottle caps this year but then maybe that's still not frequent enough for long term damage.

Are you talking about in a single day or over a period of time? There's so many variables and alcohol affects different parts of the body in different ways and a lot can depend on how you look after yourself beyond alcohol consumption. The body can take a lot of punishment regarding booze but conversely, some people can really have a bad time if they 'only' drink what others would consider 'moderate' drinking. If you look at how many units you're consuming over a day or week on a regular basis you can have a think about whether the slope is getting slippery or it's already in freefall.

Alcohol poisoning occurs not from extended drinking but heavy binge drinking. Getting ones BAC very high.

You don't want to do this.

I've drank alot and never gotten it so you've really got to drink. I've easily drank 2 liters in a day on many occasions, and while not fine, did not get alcohol poisoning.

Long term drinking increases your depression badly. It really does. I know I've been drinking too much when my depression steps up in intensity.

A lot depends on how adapted to alcohol your body is, someone who is not used to drinking would poison them selves on two 5ths of 80 proof in a day, while others can down two 5ths of 151 a day and be just fine. so the more appropriate question would be what would be medical maximum a human body can handle, as of which I have no idea.

Now is it that tolerance could cause someone to 'overdose' less readily, or just function better up until they do? I'd think heavy drinkers would be more at risk of alcohol poisoning because they can drink past the point where most people's bodies would just pass out naturally.

There's got to be a better way.
