Yesterday was such a bad day for me.

I recently moved back to my hometown of sorts from working abroad. I needed to return for a family emergency. In the 2 weeks since I've been back in the US I've:

1) Gone on a road trip across half the nation.
2) Lived in 4 different homes (not including hotels)
3) Moved in with acquaintances for a more long term residence
4) Applied for several jobs and got a job
5) Started caregiving for my mom who is very ill
6) Had arguments with my mom and brother, which included personal attacks
7) Had a near meltdown last night a after enduring someone ask me questions about the colors, sizes, and prices of things they wanted to buy off the internet for an hour
8 ) Endured the election results
9) Was told that I was behaving like a teenager during number 7 by someone else who was annoyed by the situation

I feel so trapped.

I'm sorry you are feeling trapped.

You are a great person for caregiving for your mom! Many people would just put their parent in a home and be done with it. It will be rough but in my view, its a very nice gesture.. even if some days are really bad.

While taking care of your mom, don't neglect yourself.

- Try to eat at least somewhat healthy.
- Get some moderate exercise.
- Get plenty of rest.
- Try to have at least some "ME" time every day.
- Try not to have too much to do with people who are stress triggers.
- You may want some noise cancelling headphones, so you can isolate yourself from people and other aggravations even when you are in the same room with them.

From personal experience, I've found that family are the biggest people aggravations. Fortunately, I live alone now. :D

Hope my suggestions are a help. :)

Thank you all. Your replies really helped me through yesterday. I'm feeling much better today. Definitely took some selfcare quiet time and prayer time, away from others, which mostly did the trick!
