My mother died suddenly with an accidental overdose and my world crashed. We had just moved to bigger place so my savings were spent. They immediately stopped paying me as her caretaker. Um what about the work already done?
I had to Gofund her cremation. The offers to stay dried up fast in the face of Boos autism and us arriving in Dec instead of mid January as originally planned. 2600 est joint income to 730 SSI. BLAM


I still have to go back east for my truck but until then I have 10 days where even homeless shelters cannot 'adjust to special needs children in our program, we do not have the right staff" 0_0
If I was illegal, addicted, just out of prison or about to be killed by a boyfriend or with no child I could get housing in 24 hours
And I am looking at 2-3 weeks ,living in my truck until I am employed at what takes me and get first paycheck
At least it is warmer here in AZ. Oh also a person in guise of "CHARITABLE HELPER" STOLE FROM ME. And jacked my Ranger ans blew the motor. : c

This is a terrible blow. First, I'm sorry about your loss of you mother. Second, you do have some big changes ahead.

Have you contacted your county's social services department? I wonder if they can do anything about emergency funding or emergency housing.

Please reach out to every friend and family member to see if they can either provide temporary housing, or a limited amount of financial support.

I hope you find unexpected assistance to get through this rough time. Please do not blame yourself for being victimized while you were in this vulnerable time - that's not fair to yourself.

Illegal? Yes
Addicted? Nooooooooooooo
Just out of prison? Unlikely
Killed by a boyfriend? Yes
With no child? Possibly? But unlikely

With that out of the way, I wish you luck but living out of a vehicle will at least be easier then being exposed to the elements... and people. Also you are not a failure

I was rejected by TWENTY FIVE...read that ...25 different shelters in Phx Metro who I am publishing their name, date of contact and response why answer was no. One of the family shelters that was full,, even takes the family pet in separate section of compound.

They specialize their shelters to "transitioning" people (aka in need of rehabilitation and saving). 3 of the 4 specific family shelters were plain full up. 4 shelters specialized in assisting immigrants in getting shelter, services and legal. 2 were women's shelter only. No male children past age 5 or 7. 2 were DV specific and small. 4 told me SPECIFICALLY it was my sons autism in liability diversion language: Our facility does not have their proper staff to handle children with special needs/our program requires the children to sleep in separate area and that would not be possible for you.......
the rest require you become part of a "scheduled to rehabilitate and transition you. The transitions mentioned by name was "gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction, prostitution, or parole release. <_< I could get food kitchen type help and similar. But shelter. Nope.
And big names are included, Salvation Army, Goodwill...Catholic Church, a mormon church (I walked 5 miles but they had left early despite my saying i was walking there), the 7th day advent asked me to leave premises before I could even find anyone to ask questions; two evangelicals, a baptist, a pentacostal, 2 baptist. Off the top.

I am at loss to what I even think. My faith in God is not the problem but my trust in organized churches is gone.If person temporarily knocked down with a vulnerable and young child is not to be helped.... who is? Though the people who were kind or helpful were beyond beautific, the rest of humanity ... I believe we are in need of ELE/ As for my family.... I am seriously thinking of just cutting them all off. Fair weather friens are hurtful, but fair weather family? heck one owes me 600 for fixing her transmission before I left AZ in 2011. Another owes me 300. Couldnt even take me somewhere of treat me a lunch at a cheap place <_<

I'm very sorry to hear about the amount of trouble you've had getting help.

My best friend went through something very similar ... was turned away by many so-called "charitable" organizations, including some churches. And yes, big names that have no problem asking for donations and that you are trusting to actually help people.
