I had such a bad week this week.

It started on Tuesday. I had to go back to work after having just over two weeks off.

It was horrible because I knew it was going to be hard for me.

For a kick off I knew they would move all my stuff off my table and sit someone else there so I got there early on Tuesday so I could reclaim my seat. I was right because when I got to work there had been new starters whilst I was away and they had put someone in my seat. so that was stressful to start off with.

Then I found that my notebook and cup had disappeared. I wasn't bothered about my notebook because I had anticipated that happening and bought a new one whilst I was off but my cup was a different matter. I later found it however but only after I had caused a scene.

This might sound trivial but I have worked there for over a year and because of the nature of the job and there being a big turnover of staff I am one of the oldest remaining there and a bit of consideration wouldn't have gone a miss. I was only away for two weeks and it was paid holiday.

I was absolutely fuming and for the rest of the week I had a migraine.

Well, now that you know you have thieves for co-workers,
you know that if there's anything like a notebook or a favorite coffee cup you want to keep,
you either have to lock it up
or take it home with you.

Sorry to hear about what happened.

Yes and thank you. I am planning on finding a new job in the new year. I absolutely hate it there.

It's one of those places that pretends to be really nice but it's all on the surface.

That wasn't the only thing though....

On Wednesday one of our big bosses announced that there will be a hog roast on Friday (yesterday) and that we would all get an extra 20 minutes for our lunch break. We work in a big building that houses lots of different companies so we need an extra 20 mins for queuing up.

That was a good thing and something we was all looking forward to.

Anyway yesterday morning our other manager came in and said that it's only the people who get three sales by 12 noon that can get an extra 20 mins on our lunch.

Well I was fuming again about this because I felt like her was laughing at us all because no one says anything they just accept what they are being told and it infuriates me.

So anyway when 12 came there was only one or two people who had hit this stupid target and our boss was hanging around the office making a big fuss of these people and making sure everyone knew that he was sending them for an extended lunch.

So I just rolled myself a cigarette and went for my lunch as well. I had only actually got one sale by the way by 12 noon.

anyway, there I was standing in the queue waiting for my bit of pulled pork and I just happened to turn around and who was standing behind me? None other than my boss.

I just smiled at him. I wasn't even bothered by this time because my head was splitting with my headache and I was so annoyed. What I was doing really I suppose was protesting, in my own way.

So then he had the nerve to ask me if I had got three sales. So I just told him that I hadn't and that I had got one but it was a very good one and I just carried on walking away from him....

I walked off the job at 5:15 last night anyway. It was only 30 minutes before home time but I just couldn't sit there for a minute longer.

It was after I asked my team leader for my daily stats and when I saw them they were absolute BS.

They completely make them up so they've got something to beat us around the head with. They're nothing but a load of c***s (skews the language).

I already told my big boss that he's trying to make me look like a twat and I told my team leader a similar thing yesterday. I told her to rip up the f*****g stats because it's a load of BS.

By the way, it's not only me who this is happening to. Everyone moans about it between themselves but when management are there they don't say anything. I can't do that because I have to let them know.

So I got my bag and I walked out.

I have to go back though because my business with them isn't over yet.

Careful, babybird ...

Nowadays, if you walk off the job in the USA,
and then try to show up at work again ...
someone might call the police on you.

Am not sure how things are where you live.

I'm sorry to hear of this babybird.

Reading all the things that took place at your workplace just reminded me again of what total a-holes some human beings can be, and some workplaces can be.

I wish to god work was JUST work and not all this extra crap that the other people there make it be. I think a lot more people would have happier work-lives and hang onto jobs longer if only all this silly petty crap wasn't so ubiquitious anywhere you get a group of people in one place.

I felt bad for you in all the things you wrote.

I'm sorry you got fired, but I'm glad that at least you don't have to deal with that particular set of people and issues anymore.

I genuinely hope you can find something else soon, and somewhere much better where nicer people are.

<<hugs>> Sorry you had such a bad week. That place sounds awful.

I also can't deal well when someone tries to take my space. I will fight tooth and nail to keep it.

Awww...thank you everyone, it is so nice to feel supported as I really haven't felt that for such a long time.

I have brought a grievance up with them about the way in which they let me go and also because of the circumstances that led to me being fired.

However, whilst I was out shopping today I bumped into an old colleague of mine who works in a local shop and she's asked me to apply for a job with her.

So I sent my CV.

So anyway, since I sent my grievance letter to my old works (about the way I was fired) I received a response today, asking me to attend a meeting to discuss my grievance. I can take someone to represent me.

My grievance was "unfair treatment which led to my dismissal in accordance with the equality act 2010"

I really hope I've not taken in too much for myself.

This might be a good thing; at least the wrong way it all happened is being addressed in the proper manner.

I've had a situation in my life where I was threatened that if I even tried to get legal and formal redress, they would see to it that my life was ruined. I'm glad the correct things are happening in the right way, for this with you, babybird.

It's a lot though, I can see that. But it's very good that you are bringing someone along to represent you and advocate for you. I think that is enormously, massively important, to have someone there with you.

Thank you BIF.

I've got until the start of the new year to get my case and everything together so I'll hopefully be ready.
