I picked "length" because you can create your own "quality" where no "quality" existed before.

I think quality is more important, but I think quality of life means different things at different stages of your life.

When you are young quality of life might mean having a significant other

When you are a young parent quality of life is sleeping and trying to do the right thing for your kid.

Middle age is when quality of life is less about money and more about family and friends.

Not everyone can follow the same path. There are many young people on this forum who can't find a significant other. If the opportunity presents itself, making money while you can may be the better path. It is typically easier, especially for guys, to find a SO if you have been on the money path for a while.

Bald-Accountant is describing the classic Erik Eriksson scenario. Which is an excellent scenario.

Only problem: I'm 56 in 4 days, and I still haven't had any kids yet.
