I think she is going crazy, no I mean her memory is going bad. She is in her 60's now so while she can still cook and clean and still work and take good care of herself, she just can't remember details anymore about what goes on and who said what and what she even said so she unintentionally rewrites history and situations that just happened or happened a few days ago.

I am starting to get worried now but just as long as I think it's just her memory going out, I won't be afraid and upset anymore when she gaslights me. It's just her aging and her memory going bad. But I am too anxious to tell her my concern about her brain. All I can do for now is write it all down as it happens and see how often she does it and maybe someday I will bring my concern to her if I am not anxious but if she does get any worse, then I should tell her. But however my husband thinks she is fine but I don't think so so it inspired me to start keeping track of this stuff and then he will be the first person I tell so he will see it.

I think this is a smart thing to do.

This means she hasn't deliberately gaslighted you.

I'm glad you've come to that realization.

Ah yeah my mom does this. She's in her early 70s and she's in very good health and all, but she'll say things happened that didn't or she will remember things completely wrong.

Like recently she was telling me she watched "that movie you recommended," and I was like what movie, I didn't recommend any movie. She absolutely insisted I did and she even became angry, insisting that yes, yes you DID recommend that movie and it was terrible.

I just shrugged and was like okay well sorry you didn't like it, whatever it was.
