something that has bothered me for many years and yes i did take driving class back in high school its just maybe i just don't want to drive and the reason is first many people don't follow the rules of the road and many people die from car accidents from texting

other reasons is that im worried people will bring it up saying "do you drive?" and so on and so forth. if i say no they may think im weird im very sensitive person when it comes to this subject transportation isn't my strong suit. i rather ride a bus to go around

overall i can't change who i am and i hope this doesn't sound like im making excuses i just can't mentally drive a car.

Mate,if your comfortable riding a bus, stick with what suits you.

Personally,i put up with public transport, through gritted teeth for years,it's not for me.

And btw,i got my car license at 36.

Hey AndrewBatman you're not alone. I used to work with a chap who didn't drive. He was in his 30s at the time. I neve asked him what his reason was, but he said that you can't really miss out on something you've never had. He was used to getting lifts from others or getting the bus or train and that was just normal to him and I didn't mind giving him a lift if he needed one.

Not everyone has to drive and I must say there are enough cars on the road already. Maybe less people should drive and take public transport (I am a hypocrite, I drive to work everyday and I feel guilty about it, but it's more convenient for me for health reasons, sorry planet earth)

Im 32 I will never get my license for fear of getting in an accident. I feal like the only person in the world at 32 who doesnt want to drive for fear of crashing. But I have sensory problems and bad reaction time and motor skills. Its just not a good idea for me.

I'm 17 and don't drive. Which I always thought is weird because most of the students in my grade drive. And I don't. And my grandparents told me I can't drive while I'm in college and maybe in several years from now. But I'm really worried if I do drive. Because I don't really pay attention to what's around me that well. Only what's in front. Is that an autistic thing? Then me not paying attention well would accidentally wreck into another car or run someone over and injure them really badly. Plus I'm awful with quick split second decisions. So from those 2 problems I have. Do you think I could drive?

I am 42. I don't have a driving license, never had. I don't have a car. I'm not interested in having my own car and if at all possible, I'll never buy one.

How do you get around then? Like going to buy groceries. How do you do that if you don't drive?

Some people live in areas they can just walk where they need to go. Either that or they take the bus if they need to.

I walk. If I can't walk, take a bus or a cab I simply don't do it. That's how I go about things.

Plus... there are delivery services. Internet, telephone and all these things that don't require me having a car.

I am 27 and don't have a drivers license, I might get one eventually...but I cannot even afford a car right now so would be pointless to get a license until I have that ability anyways. It would be useful to have but I would probably use the transit system quite a bit and walk to close enough places I have to go and not sure I'd be very comfortable driving in heavy traffic.

I haven't really had a lot of people inquire as to why, but I have sometimes gotten weird looks when I pull it out for proof age for places/events that ID.
