Snapping out of my rut
I want to snap out of my rut of functioning like a 12-15 year old, but I can't do it because I don't know the first steps. I also have executive planning issues, which I'm sure contributed to it. I left high school since, I didn't get to do any more formal education or experience, but I want to get my first employment as soon as possible. I can't decide or plan on what kind of job I want. I began to hate myself, but I realize that's irrational. I just don't know what to do. I feel like I function worse as an adult on most days than the more "typical" mild Asperger's Syndrome or high-functioning autistic. Also, I feel miserable and have constant anxiety about having to "please" and meet the standards of my personal CI/social workers. I really want to advocate to cut back hours or stop it altogether.

It's about self respect. Stand in front of a full length mirror and take a good look at yourself. That person standing in front of you deserves to be respected, and espouses that by being a respectable member of society who takes responsibility for themselves, and therefor exercises control over their own life.

self respect is necessary.
but professional intervention could help too.
making friends could help.
but, are they worth the effort? only the OP can decide.
