I was just having dinner with my family, and I loath it. Whenever I try to talk about anything, then I'm likely to get interrupted at least 3 times, in which case I'll just feel like "f**k it" and be all moapy, and then they'll always be like "Oh sorry" and feign interest to make make feel better, but by then it's always too damn late, because I don't want to talk about it anymore. This is always how it is at family gatherings, especially when it's the extended family. I'll try to say something, usually in response to something that someone else said, and in mid-sentence someone will interrupt me, and then someone else will respond immediately, and then before I can say a word the conversation topic will have changed. And by the time there's a pause I feel like I can't go back and say what I want to say. And maybe I do anyway, and again I'm interrupted. I f*****g HATE THIS. WHY CAN'T I f*****g BE ALLOWED TO SPEAK? Why doesn't anyone care to listen? It's just...it pisses me off so much I don't even know how to put it into words. I don't know how to talk about it, or rant. I know that conversation topics change, but how come the others can say what THEY want and I can't?

I don't talk at dinner-after a family dinner-I was chatting with everyone-being the life of the party and my mom told me when we got home
"don't talk so much next time"
my dad even stood up for me there
though that ruined it for family functions again :(

hehe, i know it very well. and not only with family, with my friends it's the same. i could be more aggressive and take the word back, but i don't find it worthy. by interrupting you they only make fools of themselves, although nobody notices because they all are fools in this sense. :) and you know what? i don't care anymore. that's what NT world taught me, not to care.

Why bother making something a poll,
if the choices are unintelligible and
uninformative?

I hate eating with too many people as I don't like people watching me eat. I am a slow eater (because of my digestive problems) and someone always fels compelled to make a comment about this and it really pisses me off.

Making a poll where the choices are unintelligable and uninformative was the very point of making it a poll. Comic relief via frustration. I didn't know what else to channel my rage into at the moment, and it amused me.

Ah. Suppose it's better than what I do with mine.

I don't think that I could eat one person,
much less three, in a single sitting.
