When you tell a story do you have to mimic the voice and tone other people used when they spoke to you? I do this without even realizing it. My parents always told me to stop because it was embarrassing but I couldn't help it because I felt like I couldn't get the proper tone of the conversation off just by repeating what they say and not how they say it.

I do this as well. I feel I should because I can't tell the story properly unless I get the voices right.

There are some voices that I can't do though.

I do something similar. My voice sometimes just comes out sounding like someone who I've recently been around.
