I've complained about my noisy neighbors a lot on here and since there's no end to this in sight I'm trying to find ways to drown them out without getting in trouble myself. Have any of you used a white noise machine like the one linked below before? People say they use them to help them sleep but my question is whether it can drown my neighbors out while I'm awake. Like could I put it beside my front door (where the noise all comes in from) turn it on and not be able to hear them yelling and laughing outside?

I have an Echo "Dot" from Amazon; it can play ambient noise, like rain, ocean waves, woodlands, etc. which sometimes help me mask outside noise (particularly rain). When I'm really getting edgy and overstimulated, I like it to play "Liquid Mind"; ambient music with no words which I find calming.
