So basically this is my second day on the job and I say to a co-worker "I remembered the genus name of that flower because it was interesting!" Which she replied " with your unique prespective you would find anything interesting"

So now I'm like overanalyzing the situation like thinking "does she think I'm aspie or different somehow already?" Other than that things are going well but her comment struck me as "odd"

I would let it slide. It may have been a friendly jab or observation or it may have been malicious but there's no way to know at this point as you have not really developed a relationship with her. She may also be on the spectrum or just someone who "puts their foot in their mouth" sometimes. I wouldn't worry about it. If it's something to worry about, it will manifest as a pattern.

I don't sense anything "malicious" about her, in fact she donated a bed and some other items to me already and seems like a friendly person.

I think you're right. The person probably had no malicious intent.

She's seen that you're different, yes.
But that's not necessarily a problem. I wouldn't worry about it.

If anything, it was probably a compliment.

I doubt anyone is sizing you up for your Aspie traits. Remember, the majority of people don't even know what that is.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they know about spectrum disorders because they teach to little kids.... I asked if they get a lot of special needs kids and they said yes and I'll even get training about special needs kids!

I don't think it's a problem. It might even be an advantage.

How about this senerio, today I was left to work on "projects" then I only had one they gave me, I got burned out on it, then I did something else, but then I quit early...I technically quit early today but according to my timesheet overall this week I worked 44.5 hours when I'm supposed to be working 35-40... So they shouldn't be mad about today, right? I hope not, I'm so scared of making mistakes!

They might get upset if the "project" was due today, and you left before the "project" was completed.

Was the project due to be finished today?

If not, then I don't see why they would be upset---unless you promised to stay till a certain time, and you left earlier than that time.

The thing was event planning for an event not until August. I wasn't even given specific guidelines how much to work today. Tomorrow is easier, I am helping out with two programs at set times, just gotta show up and help! Then some days off...

Be careful clocking more than 40 hours before you find out the rules on that. By law, they may have to pay overtime on anything over 40 hours worked in a week, and managers frown on that. I would never record more hours than actually worked (because that would be fraudulent) but I sometimes have recorded less than actually worked, because of this 40 hour rule! It's a good idea to ask your supervisor what the rules are.

Other than that - don't worry overmuch, be enthusiastic, and do your best. I'm sure that will be good enough!

I am actually in AmeriCorps... I have to get a certain amount of hours over the entire term. It's more like a salary stipend, same every time even if I work over 40 or even if there's less work and I'm working 30, etc... They said if you start consistently working too many hours they have to cut future hours.

Just try and not sound too different. Cool it on oddball remarks.
