Guys can we not snark on someone's thread we don't agree with?

This is supposed to be a safe place but I'm seriously beginning to doubt.

I don't see that changing.

Excuse me, but some of us are more focused on other important things in our lives.

LOL good for you, honey. So if that's true, why did you respond to my post? You in essence proved you are interested. Instead of scrolling past like I do to posts that don't concern me, you jumped in and snarked.

Wow, how was I being snarky?

I am very stressed and haven't slept for hours. Look, if you don't like a post that you see, you can choose to either ignore or report (there should be a report button)

I don't report posts.

Talk about what's bothering you in this area. I'm sure some of us might have insight or at least will listen.

I didn't see WitchsCat's post as snarky toward you. I saw it as snarky (minimally) towards trolls who just look for ways to mock people's crises.

Bea, you're probably right.

Are you a Golden Girls fan?

Not so much, actually. I'm a fan of strong, assertive, loud-mouthed women like Bea Arthur typically played. The Betty White role in Golden Girls was also a gem. I love Betty White (so does most of America) - I love how in her 90s, she still entertains me. Betty White and Bea Arthur are kind of opposite types of woman, but I have room in my heart for both of them.

I adored Maude. I'm assertive when I need to be. People at first think because of my quietness that they can take advantage. They find out quickly that I can hold my own. I don't fly my flags for everyone to see like Maude and some of the others. I'm real accepting of people and congenial until someone decides that means unconditional submissiveness. Male dominance in the workplace is still very much an issue.

Maude helped my parents generation of women attain self confidence.

Bettys character on GG was a dear. A lot like my late grandmother.

Maude was pretty cool. She had moral values. She cared about her husband and her daughter. She had a sort of a sardonic sense of humor----but not too bad.

In "Mary Tyler Moore," Betty White played a manipulative sort of woman. But in "Golden Girls," she was quite sensible.

I think I know the thread you're on about.
It's okay, the mods will deal with it.
