I tried as hard as I could, but I couldn't meet the physical demands of the job and I couldn't do it anymore. I'm back at my uncle's but he wants me and husband out of his house and he's highly pressuring us to get an apartment. On top of that my health is suddenly declining, reciently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and severe carpel tunnel.

Only positive part is that a hearing has been set in August for my husbands disability determination.

But this is not really how I want to live, to continue to live on disability living in a low rent apartment. I've already had a couple a meltdowns over this too... Overall not good. If I want to be employed, need to find something that uses my mental abilities and doesn't involve physical strength. It was all a physical issue too, if it wasn't for those aspects of the job I would have been fine.

This must be terribly discouraging to you. What physical demands of the job were a problem for you? I thought it was mostly teaching.

You HAVE to take care of the diabetes, and when life settles a little, the carpal tunnel. (But diabetes, first.) Please keep updating the forum on how things are going.

The job involved teaching outdoors and leading people on hikes, just lots of non stop walking and carrying things.

Make sure you get a letter from your supervisor at this job, stating your performance was okay except that the job was too physically demanding.

Good luck with the disability determination and with your self-care.

You might be able to get a little Unemployment if you worked there a few months or longer.

I’m really sorry you had to lose your job because of physical things.

They said I wasn't qualified for unemployment. For some reason they have a no reference policy too so they wouldn't even say anything to anyone else.

I can see why you possibly didn't qualify for Unemployment....but this reference thing----now that's too weird.

No, actually that's pretty common these days. People who get a tepid recommendation or a flat-out critical review have sometimes sued for defamation... so ... HR says no more. Some of my prior employers would verify dates of employment but nothing more, not even job title.

Oh okay. I thought she was saying that they wouldn't even verify dates of employment.

I think that's a good policy---to just state the dates of employment.

On top of that my husband might loose his foot.... Poor circulation might mean a blockage somewhere and it has a bad cellulitis infection and open wound not healing. I've been taking him to doctor appointments for various things almost everyday for the past couple of weeks... I'm starting to exaust.
