My uncle was giving us the impression we could stay here if we put money into the place, but now it is clear I think my uncle was just trying to get us to fix his place for him because my aunt (the manager of the trailer park) sent me a message today we got to find a new place to live especially since my husband got his money. My aunt wants her son to live here instead with my uncle (discrimination?) Anyway I need tips, because of my financial struggles in the past, we have bad credit. Not sure even what kind of housing, or even if we should remain in the area, etc... This is really confusing.

Here's what you do, my friend. You message back that you and your husband will be leaving as soon as other arrangements can be made. That's all you say.

Who knows how long that will take? Maybe it will be until you get a job offer. Maybe it will be until you can find another place. Let HER and your uncle stew, for a change.

I don't know the law in your state, but many places, as long as you are current in your rent, you cannot be evicted without a period of ____ days. I gather you don't have a lease, which is too bad.

These people are always jerking you around and it causes you no end of mental turmoil. Just stop being vulnerable with them.

An my husband is being picky... I suggested the apartment complex I lived in when I met him because it's easy to get in and he said "I grew to hate that town" and then he said I can't force him to live anywhere... and he said "I hate big cities!" But seriously we got to agree on something!

Then YOU find a place, YOU pack YOUR things, and take YOURSELF to YOUR new place, whatever YOU choose it to be. If Dear Hubby wants to follow, then that's his choice; if he doesn't, then your uncle can deal with him.

I agree with Fnord. Your husband may just be one of those types who criticizes everything. Given the tightness of your finances at the moment, and an impaired credit rating, you may not have a lot of choices where to live. Don't let him drive you crazy!

I agree with the others. Its seems as though you cant afford to be picky. You may have to go against your husbands wishes.

@Agnix: I said what I said because you seem to be the only sane person in this situation, so it behooves you to be the person to take action. No passive-aggressive "wait and see" dithering, either.

PLAN!

PREPARE!

ACT!

SUCCEED!

My aunt made it clear with another discussion we gotta go. But the puppy my husband was just given... He refuses to give it up. It might be hard to find a place that would take people with bad creadit and a pet... Uugggghhh

Then my husband asked a couple other relatives if their landlord was renting anything but now they are trying to convince us to live with them.... Again.... When we lived with them before at least they didn't jerk us around, but my uncle's (different uncle) girlfriend just got out of prison and my husband doesn't trust her. Though she would take the puppy (she has a soft spot for dogs). We lived over there before before she went to prison, she's nice to me and was going to teach me how to coupon at one time, but her past identity theft/bad check crimes caught up to her... But my husband is getting tired of living with people, he's complaining they live too far out in the country to get WiFi (though they do pick up 4G) and a ton of other excuses.

I'd really like you to get away from relatives. These people are dysfunctional and it threatens your own stability. So before planning to live around any of them, you should at least try to get housing on your own.

Even with your husband's new SSI, you still might qualify for some low-income housing, so sign up with whatever agency does that.

How is your jobhunting going? Have you stopped applying to jobs while all this housing drama is going on? If so, I advise you to shift focus to include both some jobhunting and some housing search. Every time you mention your aunt and uncle it seems to distress you.

You can be advised with bigger letters and more exclamation marks, but no more clarity.

I checked with the low income apartments we applied to a couple months ago. They said we didn't get in already because we are so low income we would need assistance in paying the deposit and no funds were available right now. I told them that my husband got his money and they said that changes things. They will try to get us in now. Those apartments the rent would be 30percent of our income plus electric. They are only a couple of blocks from where we live now however so we would be really near my relatives, but at least not living with them directly.

Oh, and I an still job hunting.

Oh, that's good news about the low-income housing! It should give you some stability, if you can get into that.

I wanted to also apply to the apartments I used to live in and my husband still says no, because there were doctors he didn't like in that town. I don't know why he couldn't just go to different doctors if he didn't like his old ones. I do admit thier hospital is pretty crappy however, lol. I wanted to go back because I have relatives in that town, but these relatives are decent and have helped us out a lot when we used to live there (my other aunt used to take us shopping when we didn't have a car). Also I have personal friends there.

Your husband is dragging you down and holding you back -- he is the source of your problems.

Your first priority, frankly, is to get your own place---so you could stop depending on that uncle of yours......
