Thus it's about time to knock myself out but before I go I thought it wise to try explaining whatever may be going on in my head, which isn't much. I'm concerned that I have to dramatically reduce my expressions of what I know to ever seriously benefit from it. Getting a professional resumé edit was as helpful as it was terrifying. I feel like I'm failing people when my technological ramblings don't enthuse them, when people care about me I want my digital overexposure to do more for them.

If it doesn't energize people it's drudgery. Here's some abstract glitch music for your time because geek problems don't seem real sometimes.

I guess I'm past looking for any advice & just wondering if anybody relates.

The same thing happens when I listen to that track. Very interesting pure techno intro, the industrial section is almost superfluous.
The light, spacious events are easy to digest but the heavier the programming becomes, the more it takes energy away.

You could say I'm pixelated. I think contemporary language and many kinds of different media fails to articulate life when it's directed by technology. I just have to hope talking to people can be enough.

I used to program music for hours and smoke weed, that used to do it. What have you been up to?

Well I don't have much to do right now, so more or less exactly that on a new Thunderbolt 4K Linux desk rig except I'm just an audiophile. I'm studying my way into CAD application testing & 3D mapping but I just came from a lame startup scenario so I have a lot of downtime and nothing to do with it.

How bad is it that I was just now getting nostalgic about a week of tech meetings? It's scaring me that I spend all this time learning without finding hardly any to show anyone what I know. I almost wish I could clone hard copies of my mind for anyone who wants one just to be more present in their lives. I don't expect anyone else to relate to my perception of technology but I've been wanting to make that possibility more inviting and actually manage to be friendly about it.

Can this be the official chronic insomnia HQ thread?

I guess that means another midnight snack. I impulsively prefer feeding on information but I'll make an effort.

Live in the city? If so you're in for a surprise once you get out into nature. There is more detail than you can conceive of.
I always thought that the work I did on weed was good but in the morning it didn't always sound as good.

I mostly smoke to relax, time consuming though it may be. I live in a suburb & hope to move to the mountains ASAP. The noise just from living by a major street is too much for me.

Yesss, I get woken up at 6.30 by the traffic. I've taken to wearing ear plugs but the vibrations of the traffic still get me. I'm that close to a road. I'm dreaming of taking a bike ride down hundreds of miles of single track roads.

I guess what this is all suggesting is that lots of space is good for post modern isolation. It's a bummer that in itself that can help but it's tough to make any social progress out of it.

A balance perhaps? I just need a little privacy and silence. 5 minutes out of town is fine. Which mountains?

Near the Rockies so there's plenty of MTB fun to be had but I haven't had any money to put into my bikes lately. You're lucky 5 minutes suffices, I'm starting to think I need near permanent privacy & silence. Once I'm working I can hopefully scrape together enough for a nice truck or van as a camper if I can afford to keep my normal car.
