All the autism support groups cost lot of money. $205 per class. Want to socialize about video games $205
Want go to dating group $205
Even aspie women’s empowerment cost $150
That’s a lot of money for just getting together and talking.

Kids get funding by the state
No one cares about adult aspies.

Have you exhausted all means of obtaining some financial support?

Don't you have any community drop-in centres or something like that?
We have quite a lot of free resources for low income people where I live because it's a very poor area, so the government provides a lot of free services.

As far as I can tell there is non. All efforts and funding is directed at kids with autism.

One that’s at a time I work in a hard to get location and when I last went to it I was ignored and left to sit alone in corner.
I live in a liberal city but they don’t want to pay taxes or help the poor. They also very anti homeless. You’d think the party that’s “for the poor people” would be more supportive of poor people.

Six years ago I was ~$110K in debt & bankrupt. I helped myself.

No one else is going to help you. Only you can help yourself.

It doesn't take much money at all to help yourself. It does take time, determination & discipline, though.

It costs less than $100 for a date (e.g., dinner, movie, et cetera); that is, if you can get a date.

<* heavy sigh *> You're right ... no one really cares about adult aspies. We get ridiculed, ignored, and even discriminated against. Then our valid complaints are set aside, because we are 'obviously' over-reacting and exaggerating the situation.

This is why self-advocacy, self-improvement, and self-support are necessary for us to even hope to accomplish anything more significant than the highest score on the latest video game.

Whatever aspies do, we must do twice as well as neurotypicals to be thought of as even half as good as they think of themselves. Fortunately for us, this is not difficult.

It’s ridiculous to spend that sort of money for “get togethers.”

I know for a fact that Sly could get dates. He’s really not that “hopeless.” He has a few admirers here.

I had no idea things were that bad in America. I'm almost glad I live on the UK; things are going down the toilet, but they aren't quite that bad. In fact there's an Aspie get together in my city for just several pounds a go. Try getting free counselling though.

What several people have already said is completely true: help yourself, because nobody else will help you in this life.

Okay ... this is turning into another "I can't get a girlfriend" thread, so I'm outta here!

Cause I responded to his post. Ok won’t miss you.

FYI the reason I want to attend such groups is to improve my chances of meeting a woman to date. Especially the dating group.

I don’t have issues cooking, or doing regular stuff, those are other groups they have.

Maybe just maybe they’d be a nice female aspie at such groups or other disabled female.

I've seen a few women say really nice things to Sly recently.
