Why do I seem to be in the minority because I don't want physical media or physical copies of anything to die out? I think some people who rub it on me that streaming is better and physical media is bad act almost like snobs. I feel a disgust with it's inevitability.

I still buy CDs and physical copies of comics. In fact, it's a passion for me to buy CDs of albums and Marvel and DC comics from the 90's.

I buy games physical I also get them discounted for doing so. I get movies on Blu-ray but hardly watch them. Streaming is simple. I lik knowing I own them physically though so I can always watch them. Streaming means you can only watch the movies and shows the companies choose will make them enough profit. So older movies and shows might not be available and others come and go.
I can’t stream some movies anywhere so I have to buy them or not watch them at all.
The future is all digital sadly. But currently internet infrastructure doesn’t support all digital. A lot of people don’t have fast enough internet to download games that are 100-150gb

I'm also part of that minority group! I mean I buy stuff far less than I used to, but that's because of the lack of space in my tiny apartment and my financial situation. I mean as a teenager I could've used my last money on a comic book had I wanted to, but that's just not an option when you live on your own and want to keep it that way.

One reason why people frown upon owning physical things might be the enviroment, though. The more stuff is made, the more it stresses the planet.

i myself like digital copies, but i think everybody should have a choice. and i understand the appeal of physical things. i just dont have space for them in my living arrangement, or i'd likely be right with u) (such as i'd be using digital copies for utility, but have physical ones for the pleasure of owning, if i could afford that money- or space- wise)

I'm mostly talking about the future anyway.

I don’t look forward to it. What it means is you own nothing, you are just renting stuff.
Buy a game for $60 it’s nit yours you’ve just leased it for however long the company lets you, buy it on disc and it’s yours, you can have it forever, you can sell it, lend it to others. You can’t do any of that with digital and eventually you won’t even be able to play it. Oh and you could be blocked by the company and loose all your content.
If I’m banned I can just make a new account and keep going. If my friend who’s all digital is banned he has to make a new account and buy everything again.
I, speaking mostly in regards to gaming but it goes for everything, Sony sells movie(lease rights) too.
Reason you’d get banned and it’s happen. If you somy account gets hacked the hacker spends thousands of dollars and empty’s your bank account. Sony admits you’ve been hacked and the charges are fraud, they refund you 1/4 of the money. They say the stuff was bought and they can’t get it back, so you not wanting to go homless call your bank and report th hack and fraud and the bank takes the money back from so u and fixes your account. Sony bans you until you pay them their money(stolen money from you). This has happen few times. If you got all digital you lose everything(games, music, movies, tv shows, ps+ subscription, Sony tv subscription etc)
That’s the future. Us being at the copmpanies whim and demands, them controlling us. Want your content? Then pay us the 3,000 the hacker stole from you because we failed to secure our sites. This happen cause of the numbous Times so u got hacked and lost millions of people’s security info. This is why don’t have any accounts linked to them, I buy psn cards with PayPal and redeem them on psn. It’s why besides discount and liking discs, I buy physical copies despite the space the take up. I actually own my games and movies. I don’t lease them.
Music I do streaming only. I’m not a big music person. I listen on the bus only. Streaming saves me money giving me variety and introducing me to songs I’d never know existed.if I was more into music I’d buy cds. Maybe get some on vinyl.
I listen to music with Apple air pods. Sounds fine to me, music people buy expensive high quality headphones. Anyways off subject.
Future is scary. Xbox is planning to do streaming only next generation they say consoles are done and gaming as a service is the future, I hate that. So no internet means you can’t play your games. And if you can’t afford fiber optic internet or your city doesn’t have it you can’t play your games, even just single player games. And the lag input lol. Meh no thanks.

I hate the way technology is moving so fast too. I don't use Netflix at all, in fact we don't even have Netflix.
I love buying DVDs and box sets, and I watch them on my DVD-player. It's nice to buy a DVD and know that you own the DVD.
CDs I don't buy so much because, admittedly, I do download songs from YouTube on to my phone, but I don't use Spotify. I just have media player to listen to my songs on.
But I have a Windows 7 laptop that I use to play PC games on (store-brought discs, not downloaded).

It's also scary how High Street stores are closing. I don't see how, because where I live the town center and the shops are always crowded with shoppers. I don't even do online banking, I'd rather go shopping the old-fashioned way. It's more sociable, and you get fresh air and exercise.

I get things by whatever way/method is the cheapest. I pirate when it's available & then I may buy it if it's not but only if I really want it or it's really cheap. I still occasionally buy CDs but that's when the CDs are really cheap or cheaper to buy after shipping than it is to buy them on DLed sites; usually the CDs are used. Also some stuff is still occasionally released only on CD instead of paid DL sites. I rip all my CDs to my comp cuz that's about the only time I listen to music is when I'm on there. I never stream movies & I pirate them instead cuz most any movie I can stream off those sites is also able to be pirated.

In the future I won't be surprised if people say I'm even some kind of deviant.

The future is scary. Sometimes I wish I'd die early so I don't have to see it get very much scarier, even though I hate admitting that.
