We didn't have all that when I went to school in the 1960s and 1970s.

Still...I wouldn't let my "jealousy" ruin my life.

I would try to get good at saving people. Using CPR. First Aid. Things like that.

I wasn't. They were considered "dorks" and were bullied. One as*hole jock who also terrorized me called them "overachievers".

Yeah, me too and that got me a ton of extra problems from other kids and some adults.

rant:
It doesn't matter how well you treat people, if you have something they want they feel perfectly entitled and justified to treat you like crap, hurt you or steal from you.
Lesson learned very early: stay away from envious types, some of them can't help themselves, they'll try to mess you up and feel happy if they succeed even if they actually like you or you helped them in the past.
rant over

I was considered a "brainiac."

I also had a hair-trigger temper than used to entertain people.

Computers weren't big back when I went to school. Most people who do "data entry" were "keypunch operators" in those days.

I wasn't so "brainy" that I was in the Math Club, though.

I was the kind of kid who was sent to the resource room for throwing tantrums.

I wasn't jealous. I personally put as much effort into school to match that of those that seemed to care which was null. I was an outcast loner/loser. As far as I was concerned, I didn't have a future.

I learned at an early age, I was a terrible student, and no one seemed to care so in return I learned to care less about school. I never studied, but I did do decent in subjects I took an interest in but I never applied myself.

Same here except I was brainwashed to believe God had a "plan" for me and all I had to do was sit on my ass apparently.

From 8-18 I was at private schools where pupils were of above average or higher intelligence. I was one of the weaker students at maths , very much so because of poor ability at geometry, but still overall better than average.
I started well academically , but went academically downhill when the effects of what I now know is a probable learning difficulty kicked in. Of course back then, early 60s to mid 70s, if you were reasonably intelligent it was very seldom considered that you had such a difficulty. School reports just said I was bad at drawing, handwriting and geometry. They also said I was poorly coordinated, and disorganised and messy.

No cos I was the same but with arts and humanities topics, especially English and art. Art was what the cool kids were good at at my first secondary too so I was lucky in that way.

I was jealous of anyone who could do 3d shape work and graph work but that seemed like it was everyone but me.

And I was jealous of people good at PE but mostly the boys. Imagine having my specialist interests and 1 being bad at sport and 2 not being able to play football even if I was good :( I used to say it was because I thought netball was boring. I was a really good umpire/ref/whatever it is though, I know that's a patronising thing they give to the kids who can't do sport but I knew all the rules of all the girl sports.
