Quit Complaining!
How do I stop playing the victim when people with Asperger's ARE being discriminated against. YES, we have a MUCH harder time getting a job. A MUCH harder time with ANYONE liking us! It's TRUE people with Asperger's almost always have it harder. So how do I pretend nothings happening??
Harder compared to who? An average, healthy NT? Most likely yeah, but there are other conditions besides asperger/autism that can make certain things in life a lot harder. Someone with just asperger/autism might have it way easier doing some things than some people with certain physical disabilities or other neurological conditions. For examble, I've heard that it's really hard for those who are mentally behind to get a job, even if they could do a simple job that mostly needs physical power and stamina.
• If you need help getting hired, then talk to a counselor at an employment agency.
• If you're having problems at work, then talk to your supervisor; and if that doesn't help, talk to someone in HR.
• If you feel you're being discriminated against, then talk to a lawyer.
Don't whinge on to your co-workers about what someone might have been thinking when they gave you a "funny look" back in high school (or something equally irrelevant to your job) -- leave your personal problems at home, and your work problems at work.
