I'm not just talking about stay at home... My uncle won't let us go out to the store or ANYWHERE even places we can go... I got my money and food stamps and he won't allow shopping... I want to at least get food, I'm lucky all my bills can be payed online... No food delivery here.

I understand he's a vulnerable person, but this is getting out of control...

Edit: and my friend is running out of CPAP water too... Not cool.

You have to get the CPAP water—uncle or no uncle.

It's too hard and I think the government acted too late.

My boyfriend is classed as a vulnerable person but I've still got to go out and get groceries because it's impossible to get a delivery slot here. We both have the same chance of picking the virus up and if I picked it up I will only pass it on to my boyfriend.

I get stupid "advice" to keep my distance from my boyfriend in our own apartment for the next 3 months. But it is just not possible. We only have one bathroom, and you have to go through the living-room to get to the kitchen, and I'm sorry but it's just not possible. We only have one bed, the couch isn't big enough to sleep on, and we've even got to ration our cleaning supplies because it's still hard to buy in supermarkets.

I don't care how possible people think it is to separate yourselves in your own home, it f*****g isn't. The only solution is to not go out at all, but that's not possible either unless we want to starve. But you have more chance of dying from lack of food and nutrition than of picking up this virus I think.

Is your uncle more at-risk? Maybe that's why. If that's the reason, can you ask a friend or family member to buy food for you and bring it to you, and then pay them back what the food cost later? Tell them that you can't leave the house and there's no delivery where you live. I recommend asking family first. If you have no family members you can ask, ask your friends. If they're really your friend and they care about you, they'll happily bring you food! If not, dump that friend! Friendship isn't ONLY about seeing your friends and hanging out with them. Another part of friendship is being there for each other when needed, so if your friends won't do you a favor that you absolutely NEED them to do, then they're not really your friends! You have to BE a friend in order to have a friend! If I was your friend and you reached out to me asking me to go grocery shopping for you or something, I would definitely do it, if you needed it. :)

On second thought.... Just overheard a huge fight in front of the neighboring apartment... Some lady coughing up a storm that works at the hospital wanted to visit them and they were yelling at her she couldn't come in their house... 8O

It's not always that simple. Friends might have trouble getting their OWN shopping or having to feed their families or even having to self-isolate themselves or whatever, so it's not always a straightforward answer to just have the "I'll get my friends to do my shopping and if they don't then they are bad friends and I'll never speak to them again" attitude. It doesn't mean they're not a good friend. It just means that they might be having trouble looking out for themselves or their kids during this terrible time. It doesn't mean they don't care.

No adult can be forced to “stay in”. We are within our rights to leave our homes in order to buy food and medicines as required. Do what you need and want to do ... please don’t ever let anyone dictate what you can and cannot do within reason ...

I brought it upon myself.... I don't have my van legal yet either and I can't walk to the store. He refused to give me a ride... I need my medication soon too, but a nurse is supposed to deliver it to me.

My mom brought over my groceries today. I'm very thankful that she's been so kind and patient with me. But seriously, I wish I could go out shopping like I used to. My mother said that the line-ups are much longer now. Of course that's probably because people have to stand so far apart now, but it'll probably move even slower than usual.

When the outbreak first began, I was anxious but not too much because I've heard the whole world "crying wolf" so many times in my life. So figuratively speaking, we're the sheep and the virus is the wolf and the stupid, evil, horrible governments, especially the ones in China and the States, are the wolf-crying boys. Except the boy was supposed to have been eaten by the wolf. The governments deserve an even worse punishment than being killed by a large ferocious animal. Or a virus.

Google the grocery store you want to go to, check out the stats in the Google search to see what hours the store is least busy and go then. Keep your distance from everyone and wash your hands when you get back. Try to leave your groceries alone for a couple days(for the virus to die off) if you can once you put them away.

If this situation remains in indefinite limbo, 2020 is probably going to have the highest suicide rate of all time.

Hmm... that does seem likely.

But whether the situation continues, or stops tomorrow, I think there will be a huge jump in birthrate in late 2020 or early 2021! I mean, it happens following a blackout, I imagine it will happen following a lockdown as well.

I posted about that somewhere. The joke is 14 years from now there will be a lot of quaranteens.

That is a good idea. I was told by my son's nurse that you can go online and order items from some grocery stores, or by calling. If you pay online you drive there and just need to pick it up from the lockers they have outside.

It would only change if something tragic happens, this social distancing stuff is BS.
