I called my doctor over this and I don't think he really listened to me...

Basically I've been getting bad nausea/vomiting with most things that I am eating!! ! I can hardly eat and it's been getting progressively worse... No possibility of pregnancy... He just prescribed zofran...

He suggested it's a stomach bug or a side effect of my metformin. Uggghhhh I really don't feel well though!

Zofran is good stuff.

I hope they can sort out the cause, when the world starts rotating again.

Why do you think that? You described vomiting and he prescribed something for that. Seems appropriate to me.

Have you ever had problems with your gallbladder? Your symptoms sound like a lot like it.

It's getting so bad I went to ER (scary trip because of covid-19) but they found nothing wrong with my gallbladder. I need to get that zofran but that's a temporary fix at best....

I mean I even gag on my pills now...

Maybe I misread your post. Did you go to ER before getting / trying Zofran? It's very effective. It's strong enough to control nausea for chemotherapy patients. I hope it's covered on your insurance because it's costly, but it does work very well.

Did the hospital test you for Gastroparesis?

I need to get a ride to the pharmacy, but I'd like to know what is causing it besides just taking another pill (I'm a walking pharmacy). I don't know what gastroparesis is... I'll have to Google it.

An easy way to know if it is gastroparesis or not is to ask for a prescription of metoclopramide and take that 30 mins before a meal and if it works better than Zofran and resolves all your symptoms then you likely have gastroparesis. Metoclopramide has severe side effects if taken long term though, but it treats all the core symptoms of gastroparesis (nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, early satiety, delayed gastric emptying). Yeah ideally you would do a gastric emptying test but who knows what services are available during the pandemic. Gastroparesis can be caused by some medications such as anticholinergics.

I am still not doing well... Nausia... Diarrhea... Won't go away, zofran is only working short term and according to package it's one every eight hours...

On top of that I can find the information I'm looking for... I looked online at my blood/urine results and I am alarmed at urine glucose (1000+) when blood glucose was around 250... With trace ketones... Can someone with medical knowledge explain this better? All I figured out reading articles is that urine sugar was supposed to be close to your blood sugar level...

Oh and my liver enzymes are a bit elevated from my Depakote... Ugh.... I'm a mess

I'm certainly no expert, but it sounds like you were screened for diabetes and / or hyperthyroid. I'm sure your doctor will follow up soon. Drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration. I hope you feel better soon.

I already have type II... I take a lot of metformin and I think it's messing up my stomach and not working well :(

sounds like a stomach flu or possible food poisoning .. used to be given tiny sips of flat coca cola..
after a hour a second sip , if tolerating that little bits of crackers hour apart.
dont push the issue , unless you have a doctor telling you otherwise. ginger ale can soothe a sour digestive system . just a thought , hope you feel better soon.

did they do a CBC blood test when you were at emergency , ? last food poisoning, took me , almost full 2 weeks to recover it was aweful . if your CBCs were normal , usually means it is not glandular related .. hernia symptoms ? could possibly cause issues ,might consider a ulcer as well , but usually these should have been able to be detected by competent MD . do you have a regular doctor.
