A friend is headed to the hospital now. I spoke to her on the phone and she could hardly talk for lack of breath. Her voice was high and breathy like someone having an asthma attack. She was diagnosed yesterday, but sent home as her symptoms then were not so severe.
She provides essential services to people with disabilities living in a very poor area where services essentially don't exist except for her agency. More than 20 years ago I met her and she was working as a home health aid for a nursing agency. She got her own provider number and worked for herself as a solo provider and then created an agency and has people working with her to provide services for more people.
She always puts others first. She and all her staff have continued to work, providing essential services. I have been so worried about all of them and my clients in this poor rural time full of migrant workers coming and going. It is a place where most people are living in housing in which it is impossible to do isolation or social distancing.
I am asking for prayers, thoughts, hope, whatever you may have, for her.
