Do you ever just feel like you try and try, but you don't have anything worthwhile to give, that you're never going to be good enough?

Hurtloam. You are good enough. You are such a tallented person. Do not feel useless as you have lots to give. More to give then you realize.

You aren't useless Hurtloam, you've got so much more heart than I will ever have. You dedicate a lot of time to helping others on here while my efforts are.....rather poor to say the least!

Keep that chin up.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

I don't know why I feel useless. I'm not connecting very well with people at the moment. Only seeing people via Teams or zoom or WhatsApp makes my inability to communicate even worse.

I don't really know how I feel right now. Useless felt like the best word.

Disconnected might be a better word. I've always felt like that, even as a child. I'm disheartened that things don't seem to get better. People don't stick around. I would like some consistency

I feel like I'm always giving out and no one cares about me. I'm exhausted.

Constantly. I thought that feeling was nature's way of reminding me that I'm still alive.

I'm sure you're not as useless as you feel.

I went through a phase like this during my teens and early 20s. In my teens I barely had any friends, and also I struggled to pay attention and get good grades in school, so obviously I felt useless.
Then when I reached 20 I was unemployed and didn't even know what I wanted to do. I had no confidence and I was lonely and miserable and kept shying away from any opportunities to go partying, but then I beat myself up about it. So I felt useless again. If you take a look at some of my old posts here you will see that I wrote about a million posts about how miserable I was. I was just so depressed and felt so unlucky and worthless.

I don't feel so useless any more.

I don't, because I don't value NT values.
I prefer personal bests, rather than outside comparisons. 8)

I always have time for you.
I try to respond to your posts, as an example.
I don't do that for everyone. ;)

Doesn't nearly everyone at some point? Even overly self confident people can feel that way simply because they are exhausted.

Life is hard. It's pretty normal to feel useless when your struggles don't seem to be getting you anywhere or gaining you anything. It's certainly frustrating, especially if you feel you have made gains but no one sees any value in them.

Pretty often, actually. More so if I've had to spend time with my family since I end up comparing myself to my sisters. Of course, the advice here would be "then don't compare yourself to them." Solid advice yes, but it comes so automatically that I don't know how not to do it.

So... let's feel useless together?

sounds like me a feeling that arises out of pressure to make over peoples expectations
but in reality, do we need to for any other reason but man made causes

Taoism philosophy is good for this

as it is grounded in the mysterious way of no way
letting us put things into perspective

in Taoism
the ultimate goal is to be useless

for those who are useless are left alone by worldly nonsense

Last day of work today. I'm on holiday for a couple of weeks, so I can 'recharge.

Ended on a bum note unfortunately. I had a task to do and I couldn't do it. Had to leave it for some one else to finish tomorrow.

Trying not to think about that.
