My uncle is getting APS called on him...

So because my uncle practically forced me too I let my little cousin and his girlfriend stay at my place... They have no income and they started messaging me constantly for me to buy things for them... Groceries, medication, even food for their turtles.... I told a social worker I was getting tired of it and she suggested me to find someone else to live there that was more responsible. My uncle yelled at me and said they had to stay there. I also mentioned that they were going to help me find a job and he said "no you can't have a job!! !" He even called the social worker and yelled at her... Later she called me back saying she is concerned about me and she is calling APS in him... Oh boy how is this gonna turn out... I've had APS called on him about how he was treating me and my late husband and how he reacted wasn't pretty...

That uncle is always giving you problems....

The only thing you can do...is ban him from your apartment.

I hope he had nothing to do with you getting this apartment.

What the feck is wrong with him?  Does he have any legal hold over you, or is his just another overbearing psycho-bully who considers you his personal slave?  Yeah, sic APS on him.  He deserves whatever legal action taken against him!

We have been telling you this uncle is bad news for years. Now you have to wonder what kind of reaction he will have from APS being contacted.

Is it Your home or your uncles and he lets you stay there?

If it’s Your home (you rent or own it), then he has Zero say in who you do or do not let stay there.

If it’s His home and he lets you stay there rent free, then the situation is much more complicated as I would think that whoever is paying for it has a say in who stays there. No idea what Michigan State law has to say on that, though.

If it IS his place and you just live there, it would be wise to seek clarification from some gov’t agency. (We call it the Tenancy Branch here. They explain renters rights and resolve disputes with landlords etc.)

Also, if it IS his place, formulate a plan to move. From what little I know about Michigan, there are plenty of very inexpensive places available for people to move to.

Why does he say you can’t have a job? Does he control your finances? Does he benefit by you not working? Ie is some gov’t benefit/support cheque being routed to him to care for you and if you start working he loses money? Or is he just that controlling and manipulative that he just doesn’t Want you to have a job and income to decide what to do with?
