"There is no geographic solution."

An old friend said that to me once, and she was right. I thought I'd find a better life in another state, but I didn't. Stay where you grew up. If it's familiar and comforting, and you're getting decent help and services, that's really important.
I used to live in New York and I got career training and a decent job. I was on my way. My parents decided to move us west and I couldn't find a job in my field. I've spent the last 20 years miserable and I've done nothing but struggle. I'm too old to have children of my own and I can't hold a full time job here, in Nevada.

I think the east coast is doing a far better job of helping people with ASD. Any small town will be riddled with all kinds of small-minded stuff that is misery-inducing.

What field are you in? I'm not American but have always got the feeling Vegas is a very shallow, tinselly sort of place that exists mainly as an entertainment city.

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been able to do what you prefer and were trained for, but keep trying.
