This sucks

This really sucks

Just when I was beginning to get back into weight lifting and and trying to regain the strength I lost after previous injuries I end up suffering........another injury :( :( :(

I was trying to bench press 205 lbs. I know its major risky to bench that much given previous injuries, since before yesterday my 1 rep max after my injuries was 175, however back in my prime before being injured I used to bench press over 300 lbs with solid form and I felt tired of being crippled and laying on the sidelines so I thought I could up the bench by 30 pounds and it wouldn't do much......

While lifting my left arm broke and my metacarpal tunnel fractured completely. It was painful. I dropped the weight on my knee while trying to turn the weight so my knee is also broken now. The doctor told me it will take 3 months to heal my metacarpal fracture and that I won't be able to workout for 3 months....

This sucks

s**t happens, couple years ago I ended up being bedridden for more than a month, then used crutches for another month and my weight bearing was limited for a year. Then a year later I had a metal part removed from my leg and it was crutches again for another week and limited weight bearing for another half a year. Yes, this sucks.

Learn from this experience, let it make you smarter and stronger. This is how muscle tissues grow, by taking damage, recovering from it and growing a little bigger and stronger again and again.

When my workout options were limited I did breathing exercises. Very powerful, some mental effects are even more powerful than workouts.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sometimes it seems like the harder you work to improve, the further behind you get. Try to figure out something you can do to pass the time while you are on limited duty. Also, do you have anyone who can help you out while you are dealing with multiple fractures? Meals, shopping, cleaning, transportation? If not, see if your doctor's office can put you in touch with assistance programs for these kinds of things. Don't be overly brave! You WILL need help with some of this.

I'm so sorry to hear this salad. :(

Your body is strong and you will recover, but in the meantime I'm sending you hugs.
