You know, the covid ones. I understand that they're bad for economy, but so is hospitals being full, the staff being overworked and lots of people at home or in quarantine due to infections and exposure, and unable to work because of it. At the very least, they should've cancelled all the festivals planned for the summer... and kept those freaking football tourists in check! Because of them, the amount of cases increased like an explosion. The news have also had a lot to say about them avoiding and threatening the covid trackers who try to pinpoint where infections came from. Those losers should've at the very least taken responsibility by staying put before they got tested! Of course, the border control is also to blame for letting so many people through untested, but in this case, I see it fair to also blame the individual morons. Not that everyone who went to Russia were that irresponsible, but many, many of those people were.

And then Britain's situation... I really don't think lifting all the restrictions was a good idea. Experts have been saying so, too. Hopefully, if it causes the amount of infections to blow up, other countries will act fast enough and deny access from Britain or demand a proper quarantine under watch from anyone who comes from there. Should be a lot easier than it'd be with many other countries too since it's no longer part of the EU.

Sorry about whining, just pissed 'cause I'm in risk group two and this thing not getting under control even affects health services that many people need. I mean, my situation's stable at the moment, but had this whole mess started a year earlier, I would've been screwed.

I think we're all screwed when autumn / winter come around again. I think there's only a lull in some places because it's summer. It seems the southern hemisphere is in another winter wave right now.

People who go about without masks, thinking their vaccine or someone else's will protect them, are rather naive.

I'm the opposite - I'm worried about the restrictions NOT easing. If the vaccines aren't going to be a way out then I don't know what will. It could be worse; we could have not had vaccines in place yet. But we have, so we now need to learn to live with the virus like we do the flu.

I wasn't going to get vaccinated but I have now decided to, because I just so badly want my freedom back. I feel like the government is taking away our rights and controling us, and I think it's about time things returned to normal.

Vaccines or not, there still are risks, like there are risks for everything. But the risks of getting ill or dying from COVID are noticeably lower now that we have vaccines in place, and hopefully by winter nearly everyone will be fully vaccinated (except for those who have chosen not to have their's but then that's their choice).
If they recorded every single death in the UK every day then nobody will want to go out and everybody will end up wrapping themselves up in cotton wool and bubble wrap and hiding away under a table for the rest of their lives.

Being controlled like this will just lead to everywhere becoming third world countries. Yes, lock down the country when the virus was new and nobody knew much about it and we had no vaccines and there were thousands of people dying each day. Now that we are lucky enough to have vaccines (some countries haven't) we really need to open up the economy and get on with our lives.

From what I understand, these ‘vaccines ‘ are 70% effective.
If that is true, we have SOME help, but that is not a 100% vaccine.
We need our masks and distancing, we need to continue to acknowledge that this virus is still here.
