Today my boyfriend's sister said she was coming to visit after she finishes work but she wasn't sure what time she was finishing today, so she said she'd call us when she's finished. This was at midday today. We don't usually get visitors so I really wanted some company (other than my boyfriend) and was looking forward to seeing her.
But as the afternoon wore on I began getting very restless. I couldn't focus on anything. I kept quickly switching from one task to another, and looking out the window, and jumping at every little sound outside. The afternoon passed very, very slowly and I just wanted her to show up.
It's 5pm now and still no phonecall. I have a feeling she won't come at all if it gets too late into the evening.

My boyfriend felt the same as me but not as restless or unfocused. I don't know why, but if I am waiting for someone for too long without knowing what time they're coming, I feel all bored and restless and cannot start tasks or focus. Does anyone else feel this way?

Yes. I get the same. I think it is normal?

It is to an extent, but with me I began getting so restless I just could not focus on anything at all, it's like I couldn't relax. Then when all the chores were done (that I did to keep myself busy) I started annoying my boyfriend, not really on purpose but just for the sake of some sort of attention.

I have the same issue. It's frustrating to wait on someone when you don't have a fixed time on their arrival. I can't focus on anything.

Same, which is why I usually demand a clearer time than "today." At the very least, I want to know if it's before x a'clock or after it. Knowing that the doorbell could ring any second makes it harder to focus, plus I might have started doing something that suffers from being interrupted. And if I need to clean, I need to know if the guest is coming soon so that I can prioritize if I don't have enough time to do everything I'd normally do.
