I do not want to be an adult today.

I do not want to even be a human today.

I want to be a cat today.

So just let me lay in a sunny spot on the carpet, feed me, scratch my back, rub my belly today, and I will feel better tomorrow.

I have a cat. She's sitting on the sofa looking out the window. She came in this morning after having the night outside as we always put her out at night.

When she trotted in she immediately came upstairs to my bed and sat on it. She then proceeded to go downstairs for some free food and then popped back upstairs and sat on the bed once more. She usually has a little relax in the evening and sits in her usual spot on the sofa overlooking the living room and always gets a stroke when I walk past. She's free to go outside at any time during the day through an open window and enjoys hobbies like sunbathing in flower beds, annoying the dogs next door and attempting to befriend a cat over the road who seems to be slowly warming to her.

She also enjoys gravy and bacon fat from time to time.

It's easy to see why you want to be cat Fnord. Cats appear to be the superior mammal and are obviously better than dogs and humans.

I feel the same most days. Being a well fed and pampered house cat is the dream..

You can be a lap kitty like Lulu.

I can't get over how much merchandise of her own cats Claire owns. She should share, I want a Lulu pillow.

I may have stumbled upon you the other day on board HMS Trincomalee … sorry things don’t feel as they should be.

I think it would so nice to be a cat.

It would be great to be a cat if I ate people food......

It is easier to be a cat.

A well treated cat hopefully, not a trapped and battered one on a run.


Do you... Wanna be free? From usual drama and constraints of human affairs along with it's psyche I mean.

Some cats don't even want to be pampered... they are accustomed to being worshipped by mere humans...

Some days I too want to sit in a comfy spot and receive oblations.

^ I'm truly sorry for your losses Fnord - it has been a tough time for many. Animals of many kinds can be therapeutic at such times.

I feel that. Adulting basically sucks and right now at times feels pointless.

All I can say is hang in there. Trying to do the same myself.
