If you look out of a window onto any busy street you see people walking along with friends, talking on mobile phones with friends etc. This is so depressing when you know any attempt at friendship will fail. I've just been looking out of a window and its made me very sad.

Just remember that it's all a lie.

Both their outward appearance of having it worked out, and your presupposition of failure are lies.

"If you look out of a window onto any busy street you see people walking along with friends, talking on mobile phones with friends etc."

So, watch them. Study the way they interact, note the way that different couples interact with each other. By watching the behavior of others an AS sufferer can learn how to handle different social situations then maybe we won't stand out in a crowd.

So, next question, what are YOU going to do to try and find a friend or three?

I've got some (online) friends however in my experience people don't stay my friend for very long. Therefore I know that the friendships will eventually fail.

I want real friends, onces that you can see and go places with etc.

OK, two questions before we carry on.

Where are you? (just the country and region will do)

How old are you?

Then when you answer hopefully we can come up with some ways you can find some mates.

I feel more comfortable behind windows, actually. It's like having a transparent barrier which stops conversation between people, but lets you observe them. I would much prefer a wall, but still. A piece of glass is better than nothing, and it provides protection against certain abusive behaviour.
