You probably may have been hearing about all the stories about how shocked people are seeing the singer Madonna on how she looks now and that the fact she has used plastic surgery to keep her looks, I agree she maybe is taken it a bit too far but I really can't stand the amount of negative criticism she gets and presumably I bet all those critics are much younger than her. I remember someone saying about Madonna that even when she was in her mid 30s, she had critics telling her ''settle down a bit''. She isn't the only the one though, Jennifer Lopez still looks good today but still gets some harsh ageist critics and even though I can't stand the Kardashians, Kim and some of her sisters in their late 30s/early 40s still look attractive and yet they too have had some of that same criticism directed at them.

I seem to feel as though a celebrity (a musician, actor/actress etc) who gets beyond their 40s is somehow deemed to be ''not worthy'' of any interest by the media or the music industry anymore than when they were younger but yet I have read of some examples who seemed to have the world at their feet and sold millions of hits and records later on life such as in the 80s, the singer Tina Turner had several major hits when at the time she was between her mid 40s and early 50s. I don't think she had the same kind of criticism than what some older celebrities get now.
