Hey everyone. I'm new here but needed a place to vent. So my husband's daughter and baby moved in with us a few days ago because she was in an abusive situation. I understand and want to do the right thing, but we live in a very small place so they are sleeping in the living room and because she's lived in a different state all this time I've never met her until now. I feel so awkward now in my own house. I don't even want to come out of my bedroom to do basic things like clean and cook or anything. I want to be alone so bad I can't stand it and I can't cope. He understands how I feel but she has no where else to go and I just feel stuck.

I understand how you feel and I would feel exactly the same way if someone was in my house. I would find it awkward to go out of my room and have to deal with another person being there, feeling like I should make some kind of conversation or just not knowing how to act and feeling self conscious. It's been a long time for me, but I have had someone staying at my house at different times. Can your husband act as a buffer? Or is he not there a lot of the time? I'm sorry I don't really have any advice. I feel for you.
