Like how the hell, oof my mom had 4 and they even me the first one had to all be c-cections I was born a tiny early bit because they had to do an emergency birth cause i was strangling myself with the embelical cord cause somehow it got twisted around my neck or something and so for any chance of survivial they had to take me out right then. But also my mom could have died, she didn't but she could have. And than tada awful autism kid was born cause I nearly strangled myself in the womb before I was born and that may have caused some brain damage, like why I can't do math but i mean now I am alive and that is fine, but it also wouldn't have been wrong if my mom aborted and I never came to be. Like if she aborted I wouldn't have known one way or the other so it woudn't have mattered cause I wouldn't exisist.
but it is juust crazy my grandma had 10, like f**k my uterus hurts just thinking about that so much even if I didn't want kids I'd rather adopt a kid than give birth to one. But also I don't want a kid, if its a zombie apcoalypse and a kid needs help I'd do that but once someone comes forward to take care of the kid thats it he gets dropped there Basically I dont want kids but I still care about their wellbeing, cause they are the next generation.

From what I know my grandma actually had 11 kids, but yes one of them in yonger age was killed in a gun accident since those guys dont seem to understand guns should be entirely out of reach of young kids. So yes I have an uncle that killed himself in a gun accident before I could ever meet him.......but on my moms side there is her brother who died in a car accident where he just crahed into something cause he 'fell asleep at the wheel' or at least that is what my moms side of the family said about him...but who knows maybe he was going out drunk driving before he died cause he was sick of people...idk.
But I have no way to ask my grandma about litterally giving birth to 10 children or more, cause my grandpa went before her but once he went she like totally lost the will to live so followed shortly after so I never really had a chance toask how having 10 babies was. But yeah my dad said once my grandpa died, its like she just lost all her will to live and no one could help her...so Idk she chose to go with him. I mean maybe they could have got her to a hospital to prolong her life, but from what my dad told me she would not have wanted that and he could tell she was dying so he gave her one last fireworks show before she passed. But even if he did not like his dad I am sure it still effects him that both his parents are dead now. He told me he didn't go to his dads funeral cause he hates him, but he also told me his dad used to beat up on him till one day he fought back and told his dad....never hit him again, but he had to beat up his dad to get him to agree not to hit him anymore so kind of seems he was relieved that his dad was dead. But was much more sad about his mother passing away after him.
basically he was happy his father died, but sad that his mother died soon after, partially of her own will cause she juust sort of wasted away once her husband was gone...and my dad and none of the other relatives could convince her to keep going enough for her to....like to her idk she lost her husband and didn't think she'd recover, it is very sad but seems like it was her choice and may have been cruel to put her in a hospital where the would force her to stay alive when she is juust ready to go, so my dads side of the family took care of her before she passed, and idk let her die....cause a hospital may have prolonged her life, but also she really didn't want to go...and so my dads side took care of her the best the could till she died. she would have never agreed to go to a hospital wich may have been her downfall cause, what if she had something that could be treated? but her and my gandpa on that side did not really believe in conventional medicine, so probably luck that the rest survived. even though none of them know how to function in the world. At least 9 off the offspring survived.

In the old days the child mortality rate was not only much higher, but the only real form of birth control was not doing it at all. So that's probably why people had more kids back then. It was also harder to get all that that close to your kids, you were lucky if they lived to adulthood. But if they did, they'd live a good while longer, at least that's what I heard.
My grandparents really wanted a boy they could name after my grandfather. But their first kid was a girl. So they really hoped their next baby would be a boy. But instead my future mother was born. She once told a few years ago me that Nanny was so upset that my mom was a girl she wouldn't feed her or hold her or anything. I was pretty shocked, since Nanny was always kind and loving to me. My mom said it wasn't a big deal. Maybe my grandmother had postpartum depression or something. So my grandparents ended up adopting a boy. But they didn't name him after Poppy, they had already given the female version of his name to my future mother. But then later they had another baby, and it was a boy. And then several years later they had another girl, my aunt who isn't that much older than me, in fact when I started my first year of school, my aunt was still a kid in the same school. But I was really young so I don't remember her being there all that much.
So that was five kids altogether. I think that was a big family, even for the 50s or 60s. But I think my dad had an even bigger family.

this was really common back in the day. Men would carry on the family line/family name and be the breadwinner for a family. Fortunately things have changed now.
