Hi yall,
I am sad because my dad told me he would kick me and shun me if I said on facebook that rich people cant go to Heaven and that that Christians need to sell everything and give to the poor.Him and my mom's reasoning for this is because saying those things could very well ruin his chance of being a elder and being in charge of our new church that we will go to.I dont know why my dad threatened to disown me over quoting Christ on facebook.

He said him and my mom would disown and shun me and kick me out if I said billionaires cant go to Heaven and that every Christian needs to sell everything and give to the poor.I mean what in the world?I am just wanting to quote Christ on my facebook but I will disowned and shunned by family and made homeless if I quote those things that Christ said in the Bible on facebook.I know money is in my username but I am not rich.All my money is in my parent's accounts.I dont know why facebook is worth kicking me out and disowning me to them just so dad can be one of the bosses at our new church.Ugh.....crying.

I quoted a verse in the Bible where Jesus said sell your possessions and give to the poor and my dad said he told me to shut the blank up.I dont know why I have to be treated so horribly just for quoting Jesus especially from a leader in church and one who wants to be in charge of a congregation.He said he ought to call me triple 6.He called me the devil for quoting the Bible on facebook when I quoted anti-wealth scriptures.He said he would charge me money for asking for an explanation.He calls me evil for wanting to teach what Christ taught about money.My dad threatened to call 911 on me and may ask the cops to take me out of the house and kick me out of his house forever even though I did not even raise my voice.He said the family will be separated if I continue to quote what Jesus said about money on facebook.He threatened to steal my computer if I continue.He has already stolen my computer once and made go a week with no computer.

What kind of beliefs are those, and how did it mattered too much to warrant getting disowned?

Since it's your parents; it's either their beliefs alone and they just don't agree regardless of reasoning and will use any excuse...
Or thought that it's shameful and it might reflect on them since it's about getting a chance to get some community position -- it's sort of like politics and it's stupid.

What are their interpretation of such quote? Perhaps they might think that it will offend someone they're trying to please and want that position badly enough?

Your family always make threats against you. It's as certain as the setting of the sun in the evenings.

You're immediate family seem dodgy as hell and not to be trusted given their penchant for criminal offences against you.

Some parents deserve to be disowned.
