Why do things just to ''fit in'' even if you don't like it?

I seem to think the issue I have when it comes to comparing myself to others is when people perhaps do things with other people they probably don't like just to ''fit in'' with the crowd and because their mates like that stuff. That's what I see when I've looked at some photos or selfies of people at bars and clubs and places. It makes me feel that there are other people like me who like to socialise but are maybe not the types of people who enjoy the weekend night life scenes but have more of a social life than me when I have few friends anyway and they are not into that stuff some of them are more severe on the autism spectrum than me.

Personally, I don't do things I dislike in order to fit in.

It depends on what you want more or what is more important to you. If "fitting in" matters to you and it helps to do some things that you don't particularly like to get it, then maybe it's worth it? But if it's not worth it to you, then why do things you don't enjoy?

When I was young and not diagnosed I was more or less forced into doing things to fit in, or scolded and lectured if I didn't so it, and all it did was make my stress and anxiety a lot worse.
