Hey everyone,

I should probably introduce myself, though "Alphen" isn't my real name, it is my pen name, so please refer to me by that name, I'd appreciate it!

So, by day I'm a electronics technician, and by night, mostly a writer, poet and this is going to sound weird, but cowboy...

Yeah, that's a weird one. But I'm literally the only guy at the riding school/livery who rides, or can ride, or even has a western saddle. Which, incidentally, is terrifying with one horse who if you ask him to "trot", assumes he's now in the Grand National (he's a cheeky boy).

Anyway, back to the point.

At the moment I'm totally overwhelmed and feeling a bit frozen. I've been offered a house in the forest, and my own horse, who is now at the livery (her name is Flame)... and is weirdly enough the daughter of one of the other horses I've been riding.

That said, I'm not good at managing change, and have had to take a week off work as my anxiety has skyrocketed, leaving me frozen in place. I mean, I have loads of things to organize and pack and figurre outtu the logistics, but my brain just won't work. I just don't know where to start, what to prioritize, and quite frankly, it's left me unable to do even the most basic of things. I don't have anyone I can really talk to about things, which doesn't make anything any easier.

Any and all advice is appreciated, I have reached out to my doctor and a counsellor, but as for sorting the move and things out, I'm lost.

Kind Regards,

Alphen.

What's helped me in the past is just to do something. Do what's right in front of you. Just start where you are.

The hardest part of anything is the first step. Once taken other things follow.

Hi Alphen, welcome to WP.
It won't take you long before you love living in the forest.
I assume you drive and can get to town for supplies. The rest will fall into place and you'll find some things you thought essential are actually superfluous.
Don't stew over the logistics, it's going to be great.
Prepare to enjoy bird song.
We're preparing our farm carved into the forest for sale as it's getting too much for us to look after, and I am scared to lose my solitude.

Go easy on yourself. Putting pressure on yourself will only make things harder and will make you feel badly. Try to take small, manageable steps. Maybe write down the steps you need to take and tackle them one at a time at a pace that feels doable. Best of luck to you.

Welcome Alphen ....hope you enjoy Wrong Planet.
organize things that are priorities...that you'll need right away to live and keep yourself clean ,and feed youself .
put those aside for last thing to pack , ( things you'll need to live right away.,upon arrival ) toothbrush, hairbrush whatever. Then stuff you need you might need to pay your bills . Then in order of things you use, most recently.
Then towards the back of what ever you load your stuff into .. Things used least , for more than a year, in the back.
and then alittle more recently used , 6 month , 3 months, etc. as you get to the front , and put all the most recently used things in front. Just my opinion.
