Every time I want to take up a new hobby, I have to buy it, and then I only enjoy it for two days! And then I HAVE to do something else! It's terrible! I can't stop!

It's okay, long term interests develop over time. Just try not to buy anything related to that interest unless you're absolutely positive it'll stay with you for awhile.

Just make you hobbies terribly expensive so you can't do them or else you'll starve and die and then you still can't do them

I quit agonizing over my interests.
I've even tried to get my daughter interested in my interests so we could do them together and the interests would last longer.

didn't work

I'm bad about musical instruments and crafts like; glass blowing, knitting, blacksmithing, woodworking, jewelry smithing, electronics, metal working (machine shop type stuff), and the like.

Usually I get through one project and finish it, then I never go back to the stuff again.

don't know what to tell you since I can't control myself either. Perhaps hire someone to break your arm whenever you talk about a new hobby? Seems drastic, but then, you would be in a cast for at least 6 weeks until you could take it off and start a new hobby. :D

Seriously though,
How about joining a hobby club... miniature railroading, knitting, or collecting, to name a few?

I use to do this. Interested in lots of different things at different times. Now I have found something I can do long term which is great, though I am a tad obsessed lol. It is hard to think of other things as well. So eventually you may find something that you are interested in for longer :)

I get obsessed but luckily cars are the only hobby that costs me anything. I stick to free/cheap hobbies like video games, or web design.

You mean no one has scolded you yet about how 'valuable' your time is?
No hobby is 'free'!

I get sick&tired of people trying to put a price on "my time" when I'm enjoying myself in what I do.
Makes me wonder how they can have any fun if they are always clocking the hours while engaged in their 'hobbies'.
