I was calling call home and discussed with my dad which printer I should buy, I need one for my job. I was going to pay for the printer so he said I should buy whatever I want. My sister who was with my dad suddenly, she screamed to me that I was such a selfish, bad person, that I made my parents pay too much for me. She even swore at me, and told me that I was a coward for not saying anything. I felt hurt and quietly angry. I think she had her own reason. My dad has just given me an expensive laptop (for our own financial situation), and I have just bought a new ipod last week with my money. Does she feel jealous with me b/c she doesn't have a laptop and a ipod. I hope that those words she said was not true. I think I will still buy a printer b/c I will need it. but this is a hard-to-tell feeling.

It may not be just you - she may be upset at something else and taking it out on you. But it does sound like she may be jealous.

it doesn't sound like it was just you. maybe u should try talking to her to see what the problems are. i do detect a note of jealousy as well.

If you are looking inkjet, get one with the big cheap standard cartridges, printers are cheap, they try with the ink. $0.06 a page or $0.02 a page, drug stores and office supply now do refills. $5 or $54, some come with tiny cartridges when new. Look, go one line, check what owners say, sellers all lie.

In Laserjet I go for slightly used HP office machines. The little home models do not last, and parts are hard to find.

If your sister is 16, she may forget what she said, mumble something that is supposed to be an apology.

Laptop envy is the curse of our time.

If she is not a little sister, run an ad in the paper, Free to Good Home, with her name and a few details.

Take a deep breath, say thanks dad, and wait it out.

Little sisters do become human, well most of them, and it can take a long time, but wait and see.
