I'm having a complete metal break right now, and I wanted to get this out there:

Do you believe in being called to service? I believe God is calling me. No, I'm not actually "hearing" him, but feel a deep yearning. A deep feeling. I always wanted to do something good, but there is a roaring feeling this time.

possible, God has never called me but I beleive him and beleive those who seem to truly beleive they are being called to do something for him.

What do you feel you need to do for him?

I do believe.
And yes, what is the form of the good you are contemplating?

I also love God, and I've experienced the same thing.

Been there, done that. It can be VERY scary and make everyone around you think you have lost your mind. But, go with it and you will see and do and be things you NEVER imagined. Trust Him. He only wants His best for you.

Think of it this way: You (a small child) are standing on a dock in a lake. Your Father is in the water with His arms open wide, calling out "Jump!! I'll catch you, I promise!!" Trust Him and jump. It's scary, but He WILL catch you!!

I suppose it would depend on what was being called for. I might not mind sacrificing my eldest male, but I don't want to kill any lambs.

Sometimes, what is being called for can be scary and make no sense. That's where the trust comes in. For instance: Quit your job (of 13 years and can be retired from easily), move to New York City and start over. Sounds insane. Felt insane. My friends weren't sure I hadn't lost my mind. (I wasn't either.) But, I went. Turned out to be good that I did. I wouldn't do anything different looking back on it now. No, it wasn't all fun and games. (In fact, it was among the hardest things I have ever done, because it turned into something TOTALLY UNEXPECTED and VERY HARD to deal with.) But I did what He asked for and several people benefitted greatly from my having been there for them when they REALLY needed someone.

Pray for a sense humor.

Sorry, I'm an Aspie - I don't get it sometimes. Deal with it.

Seriously, I thought it was a serious question and I was giving a serious answer. I'm sorry I missed your humor. But the way I see some people feel about kids and amnimals, it could just have easily been real. Never can tell about these things.

I am in many ways dubious of God, but I believe that people have a reason, and that this can quite often come with or as a call.

Of course, I also believe that this reason sometimes has to be something we just create for ourselves. . .

And I don't think that detracts.

Yeah well I should have filled it out with Highway 61 Revisited, old Dylan tune. And yeah I figured it was aspie, the pray for a sense of humor, was another attempt at the mysterious thing, humor. Mine is horribly dry. You would have to know my kids to know if I really meant it or not. Just don't meet them in a dark ally. :P

I want to help people. Especally emotionally and psychologically. I feel mindblowingly rejected and abandonded, oft by people I've loved most. Who hates me becuase I'm bi-racial, Who hates me becuase I'm smart, Who hates me becuase I'm "different" ( ). Hate hate hate everyfuckingwhere.

I want to feel love. I want to feel warmth. I want to feel giving. I want to give the comfort and assurance that was denied to me as a person. I feel this way becuase I want to feel as though I do have a prupose. That I'm not less capable becuase I'm disabilied or part African-American. I want to tell kids like me they can do better, and they deserve to ge judged on their characther and not their differences.

Experienced a calling, but not to God. Do not believe in God per se. But a calling to work for the good etc, and to work for spirit, so to speak. I ignore it these days.

The thing you're feeling doesn't have to be from God.
It can also be a simple need to do good things which can also be in the name of humanity.
