I'll keep pushing and fighting for my autistic family but let me wallow in these lyrics that reached me better than anything else when I was a kid.

I understand completely. Just think when you're alone that there are other people who feel alone as well - in that regard, you're not alone. Sometimes when you're consumed by grief you can't believe it, but it's only a matter of time until you meet new people.

Your sentiment feels better than a hug because I know that WP people really understand better than anyone what our kind of aloneness is.

I used to feel that way, from time to time. It's not a good feeling. I still feel that way, on my darkest days.

The song was from Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. Such a simple song but it was enough.

You are so thoughtful to ask. It made me wonder about what music makes me feel connected to others. I thought about a song Cat Stevens sang in Harold and Maude. It fits pretty well. Btw, if you're too young to know about Harold and Maude it's worth a view. Now I see Harold as a very aspy guy.
