why does it hurt when people are nice to me?

maybe u have had so many people be mean to you that the niceness is a shock to your system.

you mean...i'm not the only one who experiences this?
wow....
i think it hurts me more because i am not used to it, and figure i don't deserve people to treat me nice...and then i usually wind up throwing out defense mechanisms at the nice people, because i don't feel that i am deserving of that 'nice-ness'. and then i just f**k EVERYTHING up...
