Stupid Mother issues,white cane crisis,and dumber people.

I confronted my Mom and she screamed at me that she didn't want me coming back on WP anymore. That's all.

Stupid b!tch. Like she can keep me from coming back on here. I changed my password and set it to where I have to log in everytime.

Yesterday,I got my white cane. For real. My new teacher(I have 3,but only she came yesterday)gave it to me and showed me how to use it. She said I'm going to have to take it EVERYWHERE with me now.

I go back to college next week. God,people won't be the same around me. I am willing to bet ANYTHING that they'll pity me.

This isn't going to be easy..

PS - You could try learning to "echo-locate" as one guy I saw on TV did. It was amazing, but he could really do it.

Your Mom can't keep you from coming back to WP...I mean, it's not like we are a bunch of drug dealers ha. If that was the case, I would understand her reason...but since that isn't the case, then I have no idea why she would say that. We're all great people here as you know!

It's true....people might not treat you the same and things may bit a bit weird for a while when you go back to college. People there will just have to get over it though...you are still the same person and if they can't accept it then it's their problem.
It wont be easy...I can't say that I understand, because I don't. I'm wishing you all the best though.

SpaceCase: You'll always find a way to come back here. Your mother sounds deranged. Things are going to be bloody hard for a while as you learn to adapt to the loss of sight and using a white cane but if anything not being able to see well isn't hard - it's just very irritating. You know where I am if you'd like to talk.

Is your brother posting this for you or did you get the text to speech system for your pc?

SC, I am so relieved that you have a way to post on WP! I was afraid either that you would be so busy with the lessons that you couldn't come on here as much, or that your brother would be too busy to help you post. I'm so releived of the technology for blind people nowadays! Please look into the eye transplant thing though!

My mom used to yell at me a lot too. She was kind of a racist and I had to keep my anime addiction from her a secret. Same with my politics. I generally don't have much in common with my mother other than her temper. My mom didn't know how to handle me, which lead to some conflicts My relationship with her is less than satisfactory. She did find out about my anime addiction, but she didn't seem to care, she wouldn't let me watch it on TV though. But that's what the internet is for
