Not the good kind.
I may have damaged my brother's saxophone by dropping it (it was in the case). So I get to tell him that and I don't get to teach myself the music for an upcoming concert and I probably get to come up with a bunch of money to fix the damned thing.
The wierd thing is, when I first picked it up today, I could play as well as normal. But I tried a D and it overtoned to A. And then not long after that everything I played was an octave up unless I hit the octave key, in which case the notes were what they were supposed to be. A little later, hitting the octave key made it possible to only hit a few notes.
The fact that it got worse as I played it longer gives me a slight hope that I'm messing something up in how I'm playing, rather than the saxophone being damaged. I'm very new to saxophone, I'm tired, and I hadn't played in a while when I picked it up a few moments ago. But I don't see what I could have done to have such an effect.

Why are all my problems so weird?

Thanks for replying guys! I'm glad you're here to support me!

Well, anyway I'm pretty sure I was just doing badly because I was so tired, it seems fine now. So I'm a f**cktard.

Sorry- I wanted to say something supportive and helpful...really I did. For one thing, it really sucked one time when I posted something in The Haven and nobody responded. So I just deleted the whole thing. The problem didn't go away- just the post.
I am glad it was just tiredness for you and not some larger thing involving incompetence or large amounts of money or making your family very angry at you.
