I got banned from my favourite website and it's possibly a ban that lasts forever.


Please, does anyone know a good way to make a second account without getting caught?
I try again and again to make new accounts, but the staff somehow finds out.
I cannot hide or change my IP address. God, I miss my friends on that site.
I'm going to do something insane if I don't find a good solution.

Um, making a second account and posing as someone not you is normally considered permanent banning potential.

Your best bet, would be to write an E-mail to a mod/owner of the site, let them know you are sorry, they have a great site, and you will do your best to behave if are allowed back in.

Honesty is normally the best policy.

Do you know why you were banned? If not, I would tell the moderator that you do not understand and if they let you know that you will do your best not to do that anymore.

Did you actually do something to get banned or did you get banned unjustified? Before wanting another account, make sure whatever got you banned doesn't happen again or else it would be quite unreasonable and so not fun to get new accounts and get banned again and again.

Create a 2nd account using a different email address and browse the site using an anonymous proxy.

some sites can ban by IP, which makes banning by handle not as effective. I know of plenty of sites where someone goes out the door with one handle, and comes back in by another. Just play it cool.

Shelby, I hope he has been able to talk to the administrator of this forum lately.

If I were him, I would definitely apologize to the forum administrator. I'm not sure why people aren't given a proper explanation if they aren't given the heave-ho from here, though.
