some).

1. "No matter what you do or don't do, and no matter if you are going to schol or working or doing nothing at all, you are never a waste of resources such as space, food, water, oxygen, whatever."

2. "I had you because I wanted a child (or you were an accident). Not because I wanted something I could brag about when it grew up and became successful or well off or famous or well-known."

3. "I will still love you even if you are a bum living on the street or on death row after blowing up a building full of people."

4. "I will not hide you from my family or friends because I am ashamed or afraid of what they might think, and if I do, then I will ADMIT, honestly and in a direct, non-cowardly way, that you are not part of my family then; they are the ones that really count to me."

5. "Depression is not a sin."

6. "You are not a disappointment to me. You may have been but I know better and am over that now."

7. "It's not all your fault or your mental disorder's fault. At least some of it is mine too or my mental disorder's fault."

8. "I had you because I wanted a child to love, not because I wanted a child to brag about to my friends and family, who are the REAL important people in my life. Because they are, but I love you too much to use you as something to brag about."

Add some more.

If it's a family member or someone else really close...

"I love you."

If it's a friend...

"Are you okay?"

"Is there something I can do to help?"

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Usually when I am upset, it is because I have lost sight of rational thought and need logical reassurance...facts to counter the things my mind has created.

I don't tend to like hugs and all the comforting words thing, they do not help me so much as being given a fact to drive out the painful things my mind convinces me of.

Also perhaps words along the lines of 'Just try and get through today and now, and stop worrying about tomorrow'

I need for someone to tell me that no matter what I do or don't do or say or do't say or try or don't try, I'm not a waste of space or oxygen or food or water or anything.

I basically need someone to say something simple. And if I'm angry-upset, something that would snap me out of it.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine."

"Everything will be okay."

Go kill yourself loser (when I'm upset I'm always itching to get into a fight. I'm weird, I know)

Nothing. I just want them to be there for me, and not say anything until I make the first move.

My friend Erika does that, and I really apperiate her for doing so.

I want my friends to say that I can talk to them anytime no matter what they are doing... homework, housework, work work, on the phone with the bank or an old friend, showering, taking a s**t, whatever. So far they're really good about that but then they don't have old friends ore banks or homework or work or anything. I'm glad of that. But if they did I would be just as happy. As long as I could still talk to them. I guess I want someone to say to me that no matter what they're doing it isn't as important as me (usually).

Oh, and this might sound selfish to snobbish ears, but I want someone to tell me that how I feel is jsut as important as how I act and that how others treat me, inadvertently or not, matter just as much as how I treat others.

I like to be hugged when I'm upset.

Anyway, sayings:

"If no one else will take up for you, then I will."

"You really are a great person."

"I wish I could be more like you." (That one always works on me)

I am not really a touchy-feely person and don't really like it when people try to comfort me, so its best to just leave me alone. What helps is just trying to take my mind off things. It is something someone says, but the actual words don't really matter. It helps when people can make you laugh, sometimes you can forget about the problems for a while
