I hope that no one minds if I request some help - I sure hope that I am not being a bother.

I incessantly worry about things to the point where it seriously inhibits my ability to do other things. This, having been said, I am powerless to stop. No matter how hard I try, I have this overpowering notion that I am a horrible person. When I give it a really hard go, I start to become delusional until I worry once again.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

I'm not qualified to really say, but it sounds like some sort of anxiety disorder. You should see a psychiatrist, they can probably figure it out.
It's possible it's something a little medication would fix, whouldn't that be easy?

I depends also on where the problem comes from. 'Normal' social phobias can be treated reasonably well by cognitive and/or behavioural therapy and ofcourse medicine. If it is OCD I believe it can also be influenced by these things. Someone I know with very severe OCD has profit from cognitive therapy. But in his case I know it does not work perfectly, so maybe you'll need someone who is a specialist on it.

If you don't want therapy or drugs it gets harder. I only know one thing from most people I know with these fears: fight them with all the strength you've got, force yourself to do things that give you fear. It has a tendency to become stronger if you give in to it.

I hope I am not being rude to anybody by saying this...but I do go to therapy. I'm a lot better than I used to be...I just can't get any further. She doesn't think that drugs are the answer however.

I am actually here because she recommended the site to me.

Again, I thank you for your assistance and hope I am not being rude!

Please don't worry about being rude. The whole idea of a site like this is telling and asking eachother things. Doing that is not rude.

Probably it is a good thing for you to write here. It is a safer form of getting in contact with people.
