To cover up my anger, I like to throw things then laugh about it.
I take too much joy in throwing, and breaking things, then I run around the house laughing. I threw my mom's cleaning products, broke a TV antenna and throw random things then laugh unbeleivably hysterically about it.

The first thing I do is hide. If I'm alone I feel better. :)

I see it's your first post, MissIntelligent.
Welcome to WP fellow New Zealander. :)

I've been depressed for more than 2 years...so being upset is a part of daily life for me unfortunately. I used to self harm, yell at people, throw things, drink in excess (yes...when I was 15 8O).
Now, I hide out in my room and listen to music or write about what evers on my mind. It still doesn't make me feel any better, but it's better than my previous coping strategies by far.

Hmm... I either have a meltdown or if I can, I'll run to my room and throw a kicky-screamy tantrum on my bed (think of a 3 year old who isn't allowed candy). Though I'm not too sure if there's much of a difference between a meltdown and throwing a tantrum, lol. Ah, well:)

I just either bite my fingers or slap myself on the head.

I usually only have full-blown meltdowns about once every 6 months.

I prefer to be alone. Giving in to the impulse to 'act out' is a setting a bad precedent for yourself, in that it will become a routine and eventually get you in serious trouble.

Actually, that's one of the questions they ask in job interviews. I never know what the right answer is.

 me too. And after I laugh madly it comes to the crying because I realise how big damage I did to mostly my favourite things. But I do that only about two-three times in six months. The last time I destroyed my brand new histology book which was really expensive... :(

but the more common solution for bad states of mind is a chocolate to me.

I make myself a cup of tea and listen to my Limewire library.

Actually, meltdowns are basically the same as tantrums, only they last anywhere from minutes to hours ( or in more severe cases, days). I can go on for Days- but I tend to have meltdowns a lot- I throw tantrums and engage in phillipic that I do not mean. I even bang my head on the wall at times when i just want to give up.

Why would my parents get angry at me for throwing a tantrum?, it makes no sense to me, its just the way i react to things. I dont believe I'll ever grow out of tantrums my parents believe i will. Should it be ok to have meltdowns in public?- i feel it should be. everyone deserves an equal chance for self-expression.
To keep myself out of trouble, i go imy room in private and throw my tantrums- just have a meltdown if thats what is meant- my motto. if in public, I grab my notebook and write so hard that i tear the pages.

Do what I'm doing right now, silently cry, bing eat and feel completely worthless like I am.

I lift weights and chain smoke. Not a good combination I know.

However, starting today I decided to give the quit smoking thing another try, but cold turkey is hell so god knows how long that'll last! :(
