Have you experienced this problem, coming up against a brick wall in yourself when you have to do something? Are you mortally afraid of looking like a complete fool? Tell us about any times you've pushed yourself, and what happened, whether it was an utter failure or a complete sucess.

Back when I was very depressed I couldnt speak to people at all. Even the most basic request at work to the kind friendly technician was impossible. It was like a blockage in my head that that I couldnt get past. Antidepressants completely removed that, and now Im off them after a year (and glad to be off them), I am still finding myself quite depressed, but the blockage has gone - perhaps because when I was taking them I realised how easy it was just to ask something simple like that. I am hoping that it never comes back. But I understand how difficult it can be to do something that should be very simple. I guess my advice would be to take some antidepressants and do the things you are afraid of, and then maybe when you stop taking them you will be confident enough to keep on doing these things.
