Yep it's me, you're regularly scheduled pain in the keister, with yet *another* family worry...

This time, it's about my mother's sanity. You see, even though most of her children have moved out of the house, her oldest and youngest child (myself and David my youngest brother) have STILL NOT left! Understandably, my brother has ADHD *and* Schitzo-Affective disorder, while I have Asperger's, but there's one major flaw in the both of us that must drive my mom crazy!

And that's, NEITHER of us can drive! I've never had any interest in it, while my bro has tried for a license, but never succeeded. Also, because of our statuses as mental f**k-ups, we have to go to therapists and doctors on a semi-regular basis. But that leaves no choice but for Mom to spend practically ALL of her days off from work toting our sorry asses all over creation.

Well, this week is going to be extremely taxing for her. In the next 4 days, she's going to have to take me to the dentist and my therapist, David to work 2 nights in a row as well as *his* therapist...AND take Dad to some post-surgery appointments at Maine Med...all between Wednesday and Friday!

What makes me the most sad is that she HAD made a list of all the things she'd planned to cook for supper for the whole week, but she's not gonna have time to do ANY of it! I sincerely hope she doesn't snap from all this driving around, from appointment to appointment to appointment, all the freaking TIME!! ! But I will try to be as cooperative of her requests for help around the house when I can...

Wish me luck...and I'm gonna pray for her sanity

Well yeah, I have in the past, and still will if needed, made simple crockpot recipes for her during very busy weeks.

And as for Postperson's response of getting my drivers liscense, there's another reason why I don't. I'm afraid I'll inherit my mother's road rage.
And that would NOT be good in my hometown of Wells in the summertime, as our town is FLOODED to the brim with stupid Masshole tourists who DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!! !

(see what I mean? :P )

I...seem to have strayed from my point a bit; so let me sum up by saying that aside from those boundaries, I'll do what I can to help my mom through her stressful times.

If your really worried about your mom's sanity you would realize that being afraid to inherit your mom's road rage as a reason stoping you from getting your license is a lame excuse. Sorry to be so blunt but thats really not a good reason.

Getting a license NOW wouldn't solve those problems above, but future problems might be resolved. Maybe you can contact friends/coworkers and set something up? You seem genuinely concerned for your ma. In the meantime, ever thought of riding around on a bicycle? Or perhaps bussing it? I'm not sure of the situation, how big your city actually is (important, as the bigger the city, the better the pub transit), but surely there ARE options.

Well, yeah. I know that there are several bus services in York that can and will cater to my transportation needs, especially when I get my own apartment in the near future.
